I have followed this car quite a bit over the year, seeing it at many shows parked up and looking pretty. As you might of gathered that isn't what race cars do, race cars race…
With shakedowns held at their local circuit Castle Combe, and a quick demonstration at Apex Festival this year the time come to show it off for what it was made for. A hill!
What I found quite touching is they didn’t ask around and find someone who is a race driver, a few of the lads from the workshop got the chance to drive what they created.
With my camera in one hand and the other used to hold on I couldn’t wait for what was about to happen.
But here I am sat on the start line at Prescott Hill, with my driver in his oily work shoes and bright orange mechanics gloves ready for the ride of my life.
After rolling down the return road, Luke looked over and shouted to me "she's alright isn't she!" This is a man that knows it’s a good car, personally I think all of the team know it’s a good car.
After all, they do make some of the best motor parts in the world.
Lets just hope it isn't the last time I get a ride in this little MK1, but if it is then I can say I was one of the first and it sure was a good one!
