The question we find ourselves asking is why does every tom dick and harry now own one?
For years the mx5 was classed as a girly hair dressers car. Its an under powered drop top that has a cute girly appeal. This doesn’t mean it is rubbish, Clarkson himself says the handling is second to none and he approves.
My car I bought just to drift, and it seemed that’s all the previous owner did with it. Yes its crap and Im not planning on entering the BDC but why I did buy it is because its cheap to modify it’s a solid engine and it was cheap to buy. With enough balls you can drift it and tbh I like the challenge it gives me! One of my best mates asked me early last year what a cool car would be to which I replied an mx5 hands down he now loves it to bits and is turning it into a gay drift car as we speak.
The other member of the team bought his because at the time their wasn’t a great deal about, believe it or not this was only Easter last year. He sold up his brand new corsa for a 10 year miata. Mad you say but it freed up enough money for him to do what he has always wanted. The first mx5 in the UK on air suspension something a bit different the only other we can find is a car in Belgium and of course Havair's mk1 but we wont go there!
I have taken the time to tell you about our mx5s. Why we bought them and what we do with them.
If you ever see ours out and about then please come over and take a look. Don't just walk past thinking its just another one of them boring cars.
