You may remember me from such posts as
"A Saturday Afternoon" & "Who We Are and What We Do"
I haven't posted for awhile.... in fact I haven't posted at all this year,
so I thought it about time I pulled my finger
out, find my dictionary, thesaurus and put a few words on paper,
well internet but you know what I mean.
Ive been a little distracted of late. Ive moved into a bigger house,
bought a new car which is now for sale (all will be explained)
and been spending a lot of time with my family and that of my other half.
Its been good, its been fun... but ive been missing something, a spark.
Ive been into cars for a long long time, not as long as others but hey I can't
help only being 191,000 hours old.
I figured id write a little post to guide you through my personal love of cars,
the reasons I do it and what I plan on doing from now.
was embarrassed to be seen photographing it but more likely
because it was a long time ago and getting film developed now is hard to do.
It was a 1998 Corsa B 1.4 16V Breeze. O yes, the Hi-Torque model!
I lowered it, put some wheels on it and fitted a body kit on my drive,
including two tone paint work. That a long with some sick speakers
seen the hunnies flocking to me and my car faster than a Bieber video
on the big screen at a high school.
Things then got better. A 2001 Polo 6N2.
1.4 8V in Silver. My first VW. Little did I know at the time
that I would later fall head over hills for the VAG scene.
I didn't do much to the car (it had a major oil leak that I couldn't source)
so I took it and traded it for a Bora 2.0 SE!
Being only 18 at the time I was over the moon to be driving a
saloon with more than 1400cc, I felt the big dawg.
Threw on some 60mm springs and 18" RS4 wheels
that where colour coded the same blue as the car and things looked good.
1.8 16V with 150bhp. Coilovers and some AMG wheels
were added and then a few colour coded bits and bobs seen the car at a few shows
with a decent amount of attention. By now I was itching for more power though
and 150bhp just wasn't enough, not to mention when its in a tank!
I decided, spur of the moment kind of thing to go for a
Corsa again. It was my first car so surely it wouldn't let me down.
Every penny I had went in to this car. It was my pride and joy and
built by me, my dad and friends on my driveway. Every bit of this car
was fitted without a garage or one stop modifying shop in site.
Built not Bought I believe is a fraze the kids on the streets use.
Anyway the car. 2008 Corsa SRI 1.6T.
Dumped on Mercedes SLR wheels (18x8j et25) all round.
This car as I said had all my attention and money. It got me my first magazine
feature and led me to meet a lot of new people in the car scene.
Sadly and annoyingly it suffered the dreaded piston 4 failure and was
taken ill. I also didn't get a penny back (as of yet, still on going dispute) so
left me with no car, not much money and a huge ladder to climb to get
back to a show worthy car. Cars came and went after that with a few
being worth mentioning.
Coilovers and Fresh Borbet A's. Boat deck rear shelf
along with some other bits and bobs.
Coilovers and Mercedes SL wheels. (18x9j all round)
This was a lovely cruiser, but a tad to boring for me.
Fast, fun and stylish.... but living out in the sticks made this car
just a bit to annoying to live with, so a more modern car was needed.
Ive never really been a fan of french cars. I had a 306 GTI-6 at one point
for all of 3 weeks and said I wouldn't go back to one.
My other half has had a clio for 3 years and not had a problem and
friends said that a sport 172 or 182 would be a mint car.
Practical, fast and fun. So I bought a Silver 172,
ordered some coilovers and other bits which sat in the garage and
used the car for a few months. During this time my passion for cars
disappeared. The 172 is a good car, it just doesn't make you smile if you
walk out of your house and look at it, it doesn't make you fizz!
So the car is up for sale and im going back to where my hear lies, VAG.
People always have a preference with cars, they always find themselves pulled
one way or the other. Its usually Jap or Euro. Drift or Stance.
Me, Im a stance boy and I plan to start a new project soon centred
around stance and a small VAG hatchback.
Thats my personal car life.
Ups and downs, good and bad but I wouldn't change a thing.
Ive met so many great people from all scenes, ive had more laughs than a talking frog
gets views on Youtube and ive got memories ill never forget.
