and opinions with anyone who is looking to start attending and participting in track days
and after our first taste, we can't see any reason why you wouldn't want to unles you would rather
sit at home and play on Call Of Duty untill your eyes glaze over and you through the
control at the TV because someone is "camping" in which case just stop reading now.
Track days are great fun and a great way to get the best from your car but most
of all from yourself, it really does make you a better driver.
The problem with track days start at the car, not all of us own Porsche GT2 RS's
and have an endless supply of tyres, fuel and brakes.
Not to mention repairing the car if things go wrong.
You don't have to spend thousands (hence the blog title) to have lots of fun.
We have put together a little list of cars for sale right now,
yes you can buy them NOW for only £1000 and under.
Cars that we think you could hoon about in and have a bigger smile
than a chesire cat on weed.
A Porsche for less than second hand Mondeo money, and its a real one aswell (not like a cockster)
We have seen more 944's on track days than we've had hot dinners and there is a reason for this.
They work. Perfect handling from the chassis and enough powerto have plenty of fun with,
not to mention RWD and incase we forget to mention its a PORSCHE.
This car is up on ebay at this LINK for £1000.
O and if that wasn't enough to make you set up your paypal account now
this is a limited edition model. Yes a rare Porsche for £1000.
These cars are pretty reliable and aslong as you look
after it with regular oil and filter changes then you should
see your £1000 investment last you long enough to see
yourself owning a classic.
But if your trying to track on a budget, a 4 cylinder BMW is going to
give you a lot less headaches and cost you alot less to run. Trust us.
This one has done 81k which isn't anything to run away from, its got good history,
12 montht MOT and alot of extras (all of which you should remove to save weight of course)
They are RWD and if you can spare a little extra to fit a uprated LSD
you will see yourself having so much fun, the sound of a 6 cylinder will
well and truely be forgotten about.
This car can be bought HERE for £999.
you might not know what this is.
Let us tell you. Its a Peugeot 205 GTI. The 1.6 model.
Now this car is £1000, so it isn't perfect.
The paint has some rough parts, but mechanically its sound.
The car has full service history, and with some new bulbs it will fly through an MOT.
205 GTI's are getting rare little cars now, mostly because when they first came out
the boy racers of the time wrote them all off and the ones that were
left became race and rally cars, that says alot.
The size of these cars and their low weight mated with a pretty decent
and tuneable engine makes them perfect for track use.
They are FWD, a hatch and French so you know when you chuck it into
a corner it will stick like dare we say cheese to a baguette.
This example of a modern classic is up for £1000 and you can
buy it today and drive it tomorrow HERE.
The Renault Clio Williams.
The car that made way for the new Renaultsport range.
This is a Williams 3 and is one of only 300 of the cars made.
For anyone who doesn't really know much about the cars,
they are a 2.0 16v with 150bhp and weigh well, not alot.
A friend of Definitive had one of these, infact had a couple
and we can safely say they are fast, sound amazing
and handle like they are on rails.
This one we think is a bargain at £1000.
It is in great condition and has loads of documents with it
inluding all the old MOT's and even the original bill of sale.
